Nanjemoy
Creek Environmental Education Center is located on the Nanjemoy
Creek, a tributary of the Potomac River. Thanks to a generous land-lease
agreement with Mr. Calvert Posey of Nanjemoy, Charles County
Public Schools has been able to develop its environmental education
overlooking the Nanjemoy Creek and amidst the diverse habitats along
its shores.

Nanjemoy-Potomac
Environmental Coalition (N-PEC) is a citizens group organized to
lead the fight to protect and preserve Nanjemoy and its important natural
areas along the Potomac River in Nanjemoy.

is a must see web site if you love Nanjemoy or just want to learn about
its beauty. The
forest along Nanjemoy Creek, a tributary of the Potomac River, contains
one of the largest colonies of great blue herons on the East Coast.
HERONS...each
year, over 1,000 pairs of great blue herons (Ardea herodias)
return to the Nanjemoy preserve to nest.
